ACF has organized more than 50 volunteers to spend over 500 volunteer hours to bring new life to Carroll Street Park. The park is across the street from the childhood home of Pauli Murray, a champion of civil and human rights work. Because of her work, ACF wanted to help restore life in the park and make it a point of pride where families and neighbors can gather. The revised park will also complement the restored Pauli Murray Center. ACF is installing a new basketball hoop, two grills, two pieces of adult fitness equipment, two bench swings, several benches and new landscaping. They are also refurbishing the existing picnic table and bench. The estimated cost of the project is $15,000.
